today was not the best of days in the sports world. aeneus williams is quickly rising to the top of my hit list, what with his defense keeping the rams in the playoffs. i wish no ill will toward him as an individual, only to his team as a whole, particularly that fruity, pretty boy offense they have. i submit to the court that the rams benefit from a weak conference (other than frisco) and beneficial locations/timing for their out of conference games. send them up to play in chicago, green bay, or buffalo in the dead of winter, and there's no way they walk out of there with a win. sergi and i were almost successful in willing the eagles to a win today, but we did not have enough time to prepare. we now have a full week ahead of us, in which sergi will rest before forcing his will on the game from his couch next sunday, while i will spend my time making sacrifices to the football gods, hoping that they will give wings to the patriot offense, and clip those of the rams receivers. or i'll just settle for a couple torn acl's, i really have no preference.
i was also hoping that clemson would embarrass unc for the second straight year, but no such luck. even though this was the tar holes' first win of the calendar year, i am hoping it was their last. it's never enough to just have your rival down and writhing in pain. it's much more fun to kick them while you can, hehe. here's to hoping they dont win another conference game, guaranteeing them a single digit number of wins this season. how sweet it would be.
redemption for this sunday of sports came in the final, and most important game (to me at least). my blue devils let virginia stay in the game for the first half, but pretty much rocked their world in the second half, and not leaving much doubt as to who the better team is. it's not the usual 40 point blowout we've given them in cameron for the past 4 years, but it shall suffice. #1 and on a roll....awwwwwwww yeah!
so i'm supposed to be writing this paper comparing the portrayal of the african ibo tribe, excuse me, nation (mr. achebe would have my head for that misrepresentation) in the novel things fall apart and this movie we watched called keita! the prof. said something about comparing the implicit, as well as explicit, qualities of both groups, making this one of the most esoteric writing topics i've ever been given. so i have until 5 tomorrow evening to pull something out of....nowhere in particular. i'm sure it will come to me if i just sit here long enough, so that is what i shall do.
that is all for now. God bless.
