ready, set.....oh, not yet

well after having a merry christmas, a happy kwanzaa and festivus (whatever the heck that is) and ringing in the new year, i had originally planned on heading back to argetina on tuesday, but as God would have it, i'm still a ways from my support goal and (barring a miracle, which could still happen) will be spending a couple more weeks here working on that. hopefully it won't be much longer because even getting down two week late would cause me to miss camp and the theology institute which, while not the end of the world, i'd rather avoid doing.

the silver lining in this is that i get to enjoy my family, our crazy new dog and their antics a little while longer, as well as visit with the beautiful one in a less stressed/time cramped state of mind. perhaps this is my opportunity to transform from being an offscreen, albeit important character into playing a more visible role in the number one drama that is reb's life :) anyway i'm trying to keep a positive attitude about the delay, so if you see/hear me sulking, don't take any crap, alright?

hmmm, other than that, things are pretty low key. my life pretty much consists of finding ways to be constructive with free time during the day and then support efforts and hangin with various peoples at night. it's been raining a lot over the past week or so (we had something like 5 inches fall in one day) so i can't do a whole lot of outdoor stuff, though i did do some reading at the beach before all this inclimate weather showed up. that was nice.

new year's eve was pretty chill as well. i hooked up with dave, kelly, kaba and galen @ mary's fatty retro pad in temple city for dinner and a movie. napoleon dynamite (for the second time in as many months) was just as hilarious as the first time i saw it. if you have yet to partake and have an appreciation for offbeat humor, go rent it now. i actually went home before midnight because i wanted to avoid all the intelligent people in my neighborhood who enjoy shooting automatic weapons into the air for celebratory purposes. better not to mess with stray bullets, don't you think?
