where have you been?
my, it's been quite some time since i last posted, and that was just to release my suicidal angst after the cubs blew their playoff series when it was impossible to lose, yet i knew it was guaranteed to happen. steve bartman, may i never meet you face to face...
so it's christmas day and what am i doing? blogging in ARGENTINA! thousands of miles from the overwhelmingly vapid commercialism that dominates my home country more during this time of year than any other, i must admit i'd be completely content if not for the absence of loved ones. it's weird (but so nice) to not be brained with idiotic commericals pandering useless items to people who probably can't even afford them anyway. it helps that i dont have cable and every program is in spanish (re: i'm too lazy to sit in front of the tv cuz it makes me think to much here). i would also say it's weird that it's 80 degrees on christmas day, but i'm from southern california, so really it's not all that different from home.
even though i'm not in the u.s., and even though i hate the way this pure and holy holiday has been perverted by man in the vein of greed and the phantom of prosperity, i still love traditional american christmas dinner, which is now waiting for me. and so, i must move on.
voices in my head: outkast - the whole world
input: why so many of us are getting diabetes - time magazine
