boo on wal-mart!!

man, it's been a long week. pretty much all i've done is cru stuff, helping get ready for the year and chasing after freshmen and stuff like that. last night we gave away ben & jerry's and got about 80 names of people interested. today we've got bball, the activities fair, and an info meeting this evening, so hopefully we'll get a ton more names of people to meet with. i'm spent and we haven't even started classes, WHICH i thought didn't start until wednesday, but they apparently start on monday. that's more than a little disappointing, but i suppose it's better to find that out before classes start, as opposed to missing a day or two. not that the prof ever says anything imortant the first day, but still.

yeh, so wallyworld is in the brink of being blacklisted. how come we made a run last night and i bought a file cabinet, only to bring it home and find out there are no handles for the drawers! what kind of trash is that? the box was unopened, so i know nobody took them out. so boo on wal-mart. ok, i'm over it.

i think that's enough dinkin' around for now. pray that we don't get a repeat of that 105 degree heat we had yesterday. and mar & e, if either (or both) of y'all are reading this, where are you? hit me up. alrightyo, must find grubbage. paz outtro and God bless.

holy shnikey!!!

well i'll be monkey's butt if paul doesn't have a blog. and he's had it for a good while too. i had no idea. being bored and surfing over to sergi's, i see a link for paco, who can only be the one and only paul nguyen. maybe i can get him to make mine look prettier, hehe. ok, that's all. just wanted to share my revelation with everyone else. i'm out for reals this time. gonna grill with the boys. bendigos de Dios.

return of the mack

remember that song? it came out like 4 or 5 years ago by some fruity dude from england. it was catchy though. that's why i hate pop music. it sucks, but you can't get it out of your head. anyways, yeh, i'm back after like 3.5 months of nothingness. well, it wasn't nothingness for me, but for this blog, i might as well have been in another dimension. or another continent, which i actually was.

so what did i do with my summer? well, first i went down to fowler's cabin in sc for a week with the boys from gburg, then i came back here (see last post), then i went home for a week and watched God bring in $2,000 smokers the week before we left for argentina. the last $500 came in three days before i flew out to atlanta for briefing. amazing, eh? and i have to say that argentina was one of the most amazing experiences i've had in my life. spiritually, mentally, culturally, every way you can think of, it was just cool. God taught me a lot about myself through the ministry down there, and we saw some fruit as 3 people trusted Christ during the 6 weeks we were down there. i love that country. i want to go back someday. hopefully that someday will be a STINT next year. we'll see.

after i got back from argentina i had a rough week spiritually, trying to adjust to the not-so-nurturing (for me) environment of socali. but God showed me i was looking to people and their presence in my life for my joy and contentment, when i should be completely content to be alone with God, which was basically my state for the rest of my summer at home. once i realized that lesson, things started going a lot better for me, and i was able to enjoy my last summer at home with the fam. i played guitar (which i learned in argentina, thanks mar!) and did some construction work for a contractor friend of my mom's to make money and kill time, but other than that not a whole lot was hoppin for me. and now, i am back home in hot and humid durham, nc. yes, i did call it home on purpose. it is, for all intents and purposes, my home, cuz it's where i long to be when i'm not there. that sounds sappy though. ugh.

ok, i'm gonna finish unpacking now, but if you're reading this (kat), take heart in the fact that i'm not planning on disappearing anytime soon, so there will be a little more activity around here. that's all folks. bendigos de Dios.
