yeh, i shoud be in bed. oh well. an advantage of college is there are no parents around to tell you to go to bed. a disadvantage is when you wake up in the morning, you wish they had been around to make you do so. oh well, sometimes you just can't win.
so the weekend was ok. i've been livin' the high life at the oak room cuz i have food points up the wazoo, and i'll be the devil's best friend before i let duke keep my money. so thursday i had a nice $20 angus ribeye for dinner, and friday i had this shrimp pasta dish. the steak was definitely better, but the pasta dish was not bad by any means. saturday i worked on support letters for argentina and went with walsh, jay and wes over to our future house to scope out the furniture the guys are selling. man, the house is gonna be awesome next year. it looks so ghetto on the outside...but i guess that's cuz it is kinda ghetto. makes me feel right at home :) then, chrissy somehow managed to drag me out to south point with walsh, morgan and sarah, and we had dinner at spanky's in chapel hill. today i finally finished all the support letters i have addresses for, so i'll be mailing them off tomorrow after i empty my bank account for stamps :P
i had to interview a native spanish speaker not of this country for my spanish class, so i went to the dillo and asked if i could interview one of their kitchen helpers, and they gave me ceasario, of la ciudad del pueblo, mexico. he was a really friendly dude. we sat and talked for a bit after i was finished interviewing him. dude cracked me up. he was so happy about how easy it was to get a job here, he must have said it like 15 times during the interview. but it's cool, cuz he was only being real.
on a completely different topic, i've been doing a lot of reflection during the last week, leading up to easter. about what it really means to me and for me (and the rest of mankind). even though this is technically my second easter as a christian, last year i didn't give it much thought for one reason or another. but this year, man, it's just so heavy. you can't help but think about it, ya know? i mean, who gives up their one and only son, perfect in every way, for a bunch of mongrel type people like us, who like nothing more than to run around blowing each other up and tearing each other down? i surely wouldn't. but God did. and who in their right mind gives up heaven, being in the presence of God, to come down to earth and be mocked and ridiculed, tortured and crucified, and be separated from the love of God, all on their own accord? surely i wouldn't. but Jesus did. just let that marinate for a bit. you can't tell me that's not the ultimate sacrifice, which only underscores the ultimate love of God. but there's only one way to get that love, and it's through Christ. ask me about it sometime.
yeh, that's my weekly sermon. i'm practicing for staff, hehe ;) alrightyo, it's getting late, so i should get to bed. i'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball. God bless.
