monday monday
man, it's only monday and i'm already tired. this is not gonna work, i need to find a way to get some energy. and how about some money too? my parents made me pay the rent this month, which i was not expecting. that, plus the four hundred fifty freakin dollars i had to spend on books this semester has me staring at the red ink for the first time in my life. this is getting ridiculous. i know i'm taking five classes, but one is an independent study with all original manuscripts, and one is computer science one. for cryin out loud, how can they make me spend $150 on an intro class? not cool. gotta get my hours figured out and start working this week.
on a happier note, i got to see a bunch of friends from gburg last thursday at state. we laughed, we cried (not really), we had fun times. it was extra cool cuz i got to see mar (who was in argentina with me) as well. so me, her, e and kelly went out to applebee's and grabbed something to eat after the meeting, and then i got to see e's new apartment. very nice. methinks her closet is definitely as big as my entire room. ok, so i'm exaggerating, but not by much. it was good to see them again, i've missed hangin with those folks. perhaps i'll be able to rustle up some fun with them this weekend as well.
dude, everybody out here has been screamin their heads off about this drought they're having. i heard something like there was only 43 days of water left and thought that was kinda amusing. not that it's funny that they're having this heat wave and it's jackin the crops. but for reals, do y'all know what a drought is? out west, we go a whole year without rain, no complaints. anyways, that whole apocalyptic drought mess ended last week with a noah's ark redux here in north caky. i think it literally rained for 7 straight days. and by the end of it all, walsh had 2 inches of standing water in his car, thanks to a leaky sunroof. classic :)
yesterday i starred in the upcoming midsouth regional christmas conference video. yeh, that's right. i'm going back to hollywood. well, that's what jay keeps telling me. he's doing an internship with the video section of the regional office, and somehow they put him in charge of making the video for conference. so, being the veteran of one of his previous school films, i got pulled into this one too, but it was fun. i did a little running, which was probably good for me. need to exercise more.
so i had my first (short) paper of the semester due today. labor day, of all freakin days. we're not even supposed to have class! everyone else is out, but no, the dukies gotta have class. so i stayed up half the night doing what i thought was the reading for this paper. the syllabus says we're discussing chapters 3&4 on wednesday, which leads me to the conclusion that the paper is about chapters 1&2. then in class i find we're discussing the whole book. might wanna email the prof and explain that to him, if for nothing else, so he won't spend too much time trying to figure out why i didn't talk about half the book. what a way to start the semester, hehe.
oh yeh, duke football beat ecu, 23-16. oh hell yeh!!! it's on now baby :) pizzles to my nizzles. God bless.
