go shorty! it's your birthday

not anymore, but two days ago that hook applied to none other than myself. and now i'm 22, on july 22. hey look, my age and birthday match. that'll never happen again. at least i was old enough to recognize and take joy in the fact instead of it happening when i was like 2 or something. you have to find happiness in the little things. it makes life much more enjoyable.

so i've been thinking about this, and i'm not sure how much i like being 22. it's a weird, bland age. not big milestone like 18 or 21, or even 25 (that's when i can rent a car, woot!). for the next 8 years i'm just one among millions of twentysomethings. 22, 25, 27, it doesn't really matter. they're all pretty much the same. and i don't like being the same :P

on a not so jolly note, i've come to notice a disturbing trend of death occuring around my birthday. two years ago, my grandpa and great-grandma died within two weeks of my birthday. this year, a good friend's mom and bill bright (the founder of crusade) died within 5 days of my birthday. sort of puts a damper on the celebratory mood, no? not cool.

i thought maybe i had something important to say, but i can't think of it right now. if i do, i'll be sure to let all 5 people who read this know about it. that's right, i said 5. i'm expanding my audience baby, woot! i will leave you with the funniest thing i've seen in a while, thanks to the amazing reb. seems the dear leader kim jong il has some attention issues to work through. enjoy and God bless.

sounds: fleetwood mac - go your own way
food for thought: how to be filled with the holy spirit - bill bright
