summer

is passing on, and fall looms ahead. not seasonally, of course, because there is no such thing as 'seasons' here in southern california. we have february and march, also known as the time when it sometimes rains, and then there's the rest of the year. but calendrically speaking, the end of summer is near. you can tell because people are going back to school. i'm not *tear* but all my good underclassman friends have returned to duke and now i'm starting to miss it. i knew it would happen eventually, and i remember someone even telling me that now was when it would happen. but i dont remember who it was. if it was you, thanks for the heads up.

i've got about four weeks left to raise 48% of my support for argentina. normally, i would be in full freakout mode right now. but God has more than blessed me with a calm faith that He will provide, as He always has in my life. i'm hoping to wrap things up ahead of time so i can go visit reb in new york, and maybe even get down to duke for a couple of days before i'm trapped in south america for fourteen months.

today reb told me that if some hot girl wanted to tango with me while i'm in argentina, it's ok, but only in the literal sense. way to rain on a guy's parade! just playin, hehe. besides, she's the one getting hit on twice in one day, not me ;) seriously though, i'm very ready to get moving with this whole deal. our briefing conference got me all pumped up, what with the awesome team i have and all, but i still have to wait another month. apparently i must now learn a different kind of patience. soon i'll have all the argentina i could ever want, and then some. until then, i'll just try to soak up as much america and southern california as i can, except for our retarded politics. i'm not even going to start on that. good night and God bless.

sounds: howie day - perfect time of day
food for thought: mere christianity - c.s. lewis
