GOT KEYS?

cuz i do! finally, after two months of fighting the argentine real estate system, our contract got the last requisite signature today and i got the keys to our new place. i practically lived in the immobilario's office the last two weeks, so now everyone there knows who i am. the security guard knows who i need to see when i walk in the door...it's like cheers, but not quite as fun. but everyone seemed genuinely happy that the whole process was finally finished, and by half-jokingly talking about how much faster this would have happened in the states, they even displayed some sympathy for me having to experience this entire ordeal. but as tincho likes to say, el que quiere celeste, que le cueste.

anyway, it appears that my blog suddenly has the ability to upload pictures and not just link to those that are already hosted elsewhere, so perhaps i'll be able to share our view of the plaza from the 7th floor with everyone. maybe that will even inspire some of y'all to come down and visit. that'd be nice.

SO....aside from that, my life has just been a whirlwind of activity for the last three weeks. our new team members arrived the morning after my last post and it's been a blast getting to know those i hadn't met before and getting to have some old friends (becky & meeker) around for an extended period of time. rebecca (my good friend & team member) was actually on my case3 for not having updated this the whole time they've been here. that's been partly due to me spending all my time either with them, with the immobilario, travelling to the four corners of argentina (or just pilar & cordoba), or on my knees that this apartment situation would finally get taken care of. i've also been doing a lot more personal journaling, so i guess my outflow of thoughts is being split among two destinations. i'll try to do a better job of keeping this up though, even if it's just for the people who i see & work with every day, because their health & happiness is important to me (really!).

there's a ton more stuff to share, especially on the tip of what's been going on with me instead of just what i've been up to, but that will have to wait at least until tomorrow because it's already three and my friday is full of meetings and running around trying to get basic utilities such as light, gas & phone turned on @ the new pad so we can get situated as quickly as possible. for those of you who ever have, do or will doubt that God hears our prayers, i will simply recite my apartment hunting experience to you, and there will be no further discussion. God is good in His own timing, which is when there is no doubt in your mind that He is the only one who can possibly save your inept monkeybutt from whatever situation you happen to be in at the moment. i've been extricated from one, but i see many more on the horizon. it should be a fun ride, heh. tune in next time...same soop time, same soop channel (as an aside, is that gonna stick guys? or are you gonna come up with something even more aptly descriptive of me? i've always wanted a good nickname). pz & Gb.
